    Contract Months for Nikkei/Topix/Others??

    Hello,

I have perhaps an easy question, when I load up a futures contract, under the instrument list if I add the specific symbol (ES for example), the nearest expiration month pops up. This works for some Asian markets, such as Hang Seng, but not the Nikkei or Topix, or others (for ex. N225 and JTI only the Dec 2018 contracts pop up).

I also tried manually entering the month, but that does not work either.

Any idea why some futures contracts the correct symbol pops up and others it is stuck in 2018? Also, how do I manually enter a symbol, such as N225 or JTI?

Oh, and I am running 8.0.19.1 of NT, in case that matters.

    Thanks so much!

    Hello canuck,

    Thank you for your note.

The contract for these instruments would need to be manually updated, NinjaTrader's historical data servers do not record these instruments. You can manually enter the contract months on a chart once the contract months have been added to the database. You can do this by navigating to Tools > Instruments > search JTI and select it for example > Edit > Contract Months > Edit Rollovers > Add. You can do this for 03-19 and onward and then you should be able to load these contracts in the platform.

Please let us know if we may assist further.
