Hi,

Coming from MT5 and trying to figure out how to set up sell and buy limit orders. Did a search and could not find a simple enough description. Is there a simple description of how to set them up in NT8?

Hello Chelsea,

Thank you! Didn't realize I need a special mouse with a wheel (third button) for placing a simple Stop Limit Orders ;-)

Another question, is there a way to clear a screen off the previous trades ("Entry @")?

You can either

Set Data Series > Trades > Plot executions to 'Do not plot'.

Or you can reset the Sim101 on the Accounts tab of the Control Center by right-clicking Sim101 > select edit account > click reset.

Is it possible to assign a trailing stop to an existing order? For example, I place an order w/out an ATM, then decide I need to have a trailing stop for it. Is there a way to create one and connect it to an existing order?

Hello Lester Macena,

Unfortunately, NinjaTrader does not have the ability to attach an Atm Strategy to an existing order or open position. This means it would not be possible to add a stop strategy with a trailing stop to a working order or open position.

It would be possible to use OCO to manually submit a limit and stop market order and use these as a profit target and stop loss, but no trailing movement would apply to the stop market.

It would also be possible to create a custom coded Addon that could provide that kind of functionality.

I am happy to submit a feature request on your behalf for the NinjaTrader Development to consider allowing Atm Strategies to be applied to working orders and open positions if you would like.
