Difference between tick data/ time and sales

The T & S window (time and sales) displays a detailed view of tick data in real time. Each row listed is a record of a transaction executed on the instrument market and the details associated with it.


The rows include the time of the executed transaction, the ask or bid price, and the volume assigned. Further settings can customize the display to your preference and are located under the properties menu which can be accessed by right clicking on the T & S window.

I'm confused on what the difference is between tick data and data in the T & S window? From my understanding, both create data when a trade is filled?
