    Get data from server

Does this option just relate to getting historical data form the NT8 servers? I don;t want any info from the NT8 servers, want it all coming from my data provider iqfeed so not to mix things up. If I turn this option off will I still get historical data from IQfeed?

    Hello b16_aln,

    Thanks for posting.

This option enables or disables the retrieval of historical data from your data provider's servers. When it's disabled, only local data stored on your PC will be used, so you'll want to keep it enabled if you wish to load historical data from IQFeed.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Thanks, I have IQfeed set as my primary data sources for live and historical data so why is my NT8 platform constantly trying to connect to "is-us-nt-001.ninjatrader.com/31658" ?

        Thanks for your reply.

The platform will connect to our historical data servers on startup in order to load certain data, such as rollover offsets. Other actions, such as downloading Market Replay data, will also use the NinjaTrader historical data servers.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

My NT8 has been on for days, I'm not downloading market replay data so why is it still trying to connect to ninjatrader servers. What other information is NT8 sending?

Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

Nothing has occurred, I just want to know what data NT8 is sending to your servers and why it keeps connecting to "is-us-nt-001.ninjatrader.com/31658"

A connection to the NinjaTrader historical data servers is most commonly used in the three following scenarios:
                • On startup (For Rollover Offsets)
                • On Historical Data Request on a NinjaTrader HDS enabled connection as connected to provider
                • On Market Replay data download
I cannot comment on what the historical data servers are being used for on your end at any given time without looking at your log and trace files.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
