    Issue with TDAmeritrade Connection Stability

    I have been having issues with the TDAmeritrade connection for a while now. When the connection is lost and reconnects the data feed stops and shows still connected. Connection is unusable for automated trading.
    My steps used to reproduce this issue.
    1. Clean install NT8 8.0.20.0 64bit
    2. Connect to TDAmeritrade.
    3. Open a 1M and 1D SPY chart.
    4. Wait overnight or until the charts completely stop updating.

    Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.
    • You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support
    • Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

        hurleydood , I'm experiencing a lot of problems with TD Ameritrade too, completely unusable at the moment. Are you getting the "Invalid session" error messages in Ninjatrader?

          mic414 I do see some invalid session errors in my log. The issue I have is the connection is maintained to TDA but the data feed just stops streaming. The issue happens usually when the connection had dropped and reconnected.

            I didn't notice the data feed problem (since I'm using IQFeed separately for data), but yes, my experience is similar: the connection is lost, but it still shows as green in NT, and when the strategy tries to execute a trade, I'll get the invalid session errors. Also, at this point, I wouldn't be able to make any trade even manually. Once I disconnect and reconnect, it seems to work, but it's just a matter of time before it breaks again. I sent mail to [email protected] alst Friday, no response yet from them. I even called them, telephone support said the API team only communicates over email, and it may take 1-2 weeks :-/
