    Promotion and Contract Expiry Popup made Ninja unusable

    Hello,

    We running NinjaTrader 8 on AWS cloud and up to recently had no issues. Last 2 weeks, we had an issue twice where Popups with promotions and contracts expiry warnings made Ninja and the whole VM unusable (it has few popups windows overnight showing up). No matter where you click Ninja would not respond. I had to close it via killing in CTRL+ALT+Delete, bounce VM and restart Ninja.

    Once I updated to the latest version, early this week, we had no issues so far. It is kinda bad when popup is sent while software is running. Totally understand on start up, but not while live strategies trading.

    Any suggestions how to deal with this?

    It's not expected that pop ups would cause unresponsiveness other than needing to be dismissed before control of the rest of the platform can be regained. The pop ups have 'modal control'.

    When NinjaTrader wasn't responsive, was it before or after dismissing the popup announcements? Or were you even unable to acknowledge those? I am wondering if there was another modal window that was waiting for a dismissal which caused the unresponsiveness you're reporting. For example, 3 popups but the second one (underneath another one) was the one waiting for dismissal.

      Before dismissing the popup. I could not dismiss anything, it was totally frozen. I tried to click on every window. It did appear that multiple pop ups were present. But I could not even see what they were about.

        Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

        Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

            You might want to also look at and send windows event viewer logs, to see if something at the operating system level caused the lock up
