Question on 2 SuperDOMs for 2 Instruments & Close button

Hi,


I'm running NT8 with 2 SuperDOMs open, one for CL 08-18 and one for CL 09-18 out of the same Ninjatrader account (Dorma). Can NT be setup so that when I press the "Close" button on the first SuperDOM, it does not close the position on the second SuperDOM? If not, please request this feature, i.e., each SuperDOM acting independently if each is referencing a different instrument in the same account as to the "Close" button.

Hello Trader2020,

NinjaTrader will see each expiry contract month as a separate instrument and each instrument and account pair will have an independent separate position.

Placing an order to the 08-18 contract month will not cause a position to appear for the 09-18 contract month. Clicking the Close button with CL 09-18 selected will not cause a position open on CL 08-18.

Thanks for the reply. That is great to hear. I have limited my live trading to day trading, but wanted to start some swing trading as described in my first post but was under the impression from reading another thread that it would not work. I guess their situation involved attempting to hold 2 positions on the same instrument where the charts are in different times, where I would be holding positions on 2 different instruments. I'll give it a try!
