Account position out of sync with strategy position

Suppose my strategy and account are both in a long position of 1 contract thus making them in sync.

Then I sell 1 contract manually using the chart trader.

Now my account is flat, but my strategy is still long 1 contract thus making them out of sync.

is there anyway to prevent this from happening in the first place?

if not, is there a way to exit that long on the strategy only and get the account and strategy position back in sync?

id like to sync the strategy to the account. Not the account to the strategy.

    Hello evanp90,

    Thank you for your note.

There would not be a way to prevent this from occurring other than to check your running strategies for existing positions prior to placing a manual order on an instrument you generally run your strategies on.

You can resynchronize your account and strategy position while the strategy is running. To do this, go to the Strategies tab of the Control Center, right click, and select "Synchronize All Strategies" - this will cause your strategies to check the account position against their current position and if necessary submit a synchronizing order to get your account and strategy positions back in line.

Here's a help guide reference that goes over the Synchronize All Strategies functionality:

Thanks. Is there a way to check the last position for an instrument on the account? Not the strategy, the account.

        Hello evanp90,

        Thank you for your reply.

To clarify, are you just wanting to find the current account position, or are you wanting to find whether the most recent position was submitted manually or by a strategy?

Account information can be accessed through the Account class - you could subscribe to the account and then monitor in OnPositionUpdate for any changes to your account position:

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.
