High/Low Bar Close Alerts

If this can be done, any guidance would be appreciated:

I want an Alert to be triggered when
1) A bar whose close is higher than its open, closes on its high
2) A bar whose close is lower than its open, closes on its low.

Thanks for posting.

I've provided steps to do this using the Alerts interface below:

- Right-click within a chart and go to Alerts. Set the alert's Rearm type to 'On bar close' and Conditions to 'If All'.

- Under Conditions, click add to create the first of two conditions.

- To check that the close was higher than the open, select your data series in the left panel, set Bars ago to 1 and Price type to Close, set the middle drop-down menu to 'Greater', then select the data series again the right panel, with Bars ago set to 1 and Price type set to Open: http://prntscr.com/qqbe4n. Click OK.

-Click add again to create the second condition. To check that the close was equal to the high, select your data series in the left panel, set Bars ago to 1 and Price type to Close, set the middle drop-down menu to 'Equals', then select the data series again the right panel, with Bars ago set to 1 and Price type set to High: http://prntscr.com/qqbf7h . Click OK.

With these two conditions set up, the alert will now work and generate a message in the Alerts log. You may add additional actions, such as playing a sound, within the Actions panel.

The second alert you outlined would be set up the same way, you'd just swap 'Greater' for 'Less' in the first condition, and High for Low in the second condition.
