NT7 vs NT8

    NT7 vs NT8

    Been having a lot of trouble with NT8 lately. Recently it started to take several tries to load, and that was after about 10 minutes of waiting. Now it just stalls, turns on the computer fan and partially loads. I tried uninstalling and reloading the previous version of NT8 even and no help.

    NT7 on the other hand loads inside 30 seconds and is stable as a rock.

    I haven't changed anything to the machine recently that I know of. What are some likely things that could be getting in the way of NT8? I would much rather use NT8 as I have invested a lot of time developing my work space, but for now I have no choice but to take a step back in time. ;-( Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thank you for the post.

    It would be hard to say for sure based on this description alone what is causing this behavior.

    Does NinjaTrader 8 open in Safe Mode?

    So we can further diagnose your system, please start NinjaTrader in Safe Mode.

    Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
    • Loading workspaces.
    • Connecting on start-up.
    • Loading custom assemblies.
    • Getting instrument updates from the server.

    To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
    • Exit NinjaTrader.
    • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
    • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
    • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

      Thanks for the quick reply Melissa. It appears to have the same result in safe mode. Control Center comes up, cursor turns from pointer to blue circle, computer fan comes on after a few minutes and it completely stalls.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

        Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

          OK, I'll try. It might take a while because it just freezes completely on opening...hopefully it will complete one of these times.
