    Level II Colors

    Hello,

This seems fairly simple and straight forward, but I am stuck and hope to find an answer here

    My Problem Statement:

I would like to color code my time and sales window to show:
    • Green transactions for when price should move higher
    • Red for when price should move lower.

I understand that in the time and sales window, there are just receipts for each transaction and don't necessary show when price should move in either direction, but what I am struggling with where is to set the color schema for NT8 to show my desired outcome.

    My assumptions are:
    • If a transaction occurs on the Ask, price should go up/down?
    • If the transaction occurs on the Bid, price should go up/down? (I assume if sellers are selling into the bid, then price should go down.)

On my platform settings, there is an option for both "at ask foreground" and "ask foreground", I have no Idea of what the difference is.

So essentially I would like to watch the tape to try and get a feel for the market, but I cant seem the get the colors right.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello Newtrader,

    Thanks for posting.

If I'm understanding you correctly, this won't be possible because a transaction occurring at the ask or bid doesn't guarantee price movement. The ask or bid is often equal to the last traded price, since there are resting orders remaining at that price that have yet to be filled.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Hi, I was not happy with the answer given on "at ask and ask" as I don't think Tyler answered your question and I am having the same problem with understanding. Is there more to this post than the single response or did you find the answer elsewhere?

My problem is not color but what is the difference between the 2?
