    Crude Oil Historical Data issue

I can't see data for Crude Oil past 2010. I've never had a reason to see that far back, but now I do. I know their is a long term gap at 41.25 which I'm sure will get hit this week. Specially after the weekly candle on Crude Oil. Anyways I want to see what's past that. Why can't I? Put in like 20,000 days but no matter how many days I put it, it just wont go past that point. Why not? And what can I do to fix it. I want to know what's below 40.00 dollars on Crude Oil.

    Hello Skyfly1715,

    Thank you for your note.

So I may best assist, what data feed are you connecting to in the platform?

I look forward to your reply.

        Hello,

        Thank you for the reply.

The amount of data you see will depend on your provider, the type of chart you are loading, and the history of the instrument.

NinjaTrader Continuum generally provides minute and daily data that goes back quite far, beyond 2010. Tick data is much more limited.

What sort of chart Data Series configuration are you using?

I look forward to your reply.

I use a tick chart to trade with. But I've placed it on a Daily/Weekly/Minute (60) and it wont go back past about 2010. So....I don't know. But I do know I want to see what's below about 40.80 cause it looks like price is going that way. So..what do we do?

            Hello,

            Thank you for the reply.

I am able to load a 60 minute chart that goes back to 2008 while connected to NinjaTrader Continuum.

I have attached a photo of the chart, and my Data Series settings.

Can you confirm that you are unable to load this particular chart?

If so, there may be something going on with your historical data.

To verify if this is the case, please delete your historical data using the instructions provided at the following page of the NinjaTrader Help Guide:

            Removing Historical Data
            • Once the data has been deleted close NinjaTrader. Open the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\cache folder. Select all files then right mouse click and select “delete.”
            • Open NinjaTrader and connect to your data provider. Open a new chart.

Please let me know if this resolves this item.

No I can confirm I can load that chart. Actually I am able to load it exactly to what you did. I looked on a historical chart on some website. Where I want to see is back to 2003. If price continues down that's the next support, their or about. So I could load that chart with those settings, but it still didn't get back far enough. Is that just the way it is?

                Hello,

                Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately the data I see for this instrument only goes back to 2008 so you would not be able to see 2003 while connected to this provider. I am unaware of any provider that does go back that far, and I have tested with NinjaTrader Continuum and Kinetick.

Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance.
