    latency for placing orders

I would like to check the time( ms) I need to place an order thru DOM. Is there an address that I can use to connect with and test?
I live in Europe and see massive ( massive in ms) differences between brokers.
I checked with www.ninjatrader.com and got 49ms, which to me looks impossible (too fast as I live in Europe). According to my calculations the maximum distance it can travel in 49ms is 7350km. And I am sure there are bottlenecks slowing down the speed.
For my actual broker I need 200ms.

A realistic round trip time for orders would be 200-400ms in most cases.

NinjaTrader does not handle the order routing to your broker. That would be handled by the underlying technology that your brokerage connection uses.
    • Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.
    • Who is your broker?

NinjaTrader Brokerage would use CQG (or Rithmic if you specifically request it). You can ping/tracert www.cqgtrader.com. Full CQG tech specs can be found here:

            Good morning,

You say that placing an order takes from 200 to 400 ms. I have a Ninja Broker and a CQG connection. My server is not located in Chicago and at the moment the latency is around 10-30 ms. (By the way, does it make sense to look at the resource monitor to find out the exact latency?). If I place my platform on the 350 E Cermak data center server (CQG home site and they promise "normally the latency is 0.5 ms to 1.5 ms"), will it speed up the momentum of placing my orders, or 200-400 ms will still be the case?

There would be no way to confirm if this will improve latency without performing a test from that location to CQG's servers.
