Charts book price lagging w/ CQG/Contiuum

    Charts book price lagging w/ CQG/Contiuum

    A few times this morning I had issues where price and Chart Trader and book is freezing / not keeping up with live market prices. Price action was volatile at the time, but it was pretty much useless as a data feed in terms of trading. Is there anything I can check to see if it is a setup/configuration issue?


    computer resources were all free, cpu ram. ninjatrader occupies 1.2 GB of ram. cpu 2% I have 16 GB of ram CPU Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU E5-2640 v4 @ 2.40GHz



    it's a drama. this platform is not as professional as sierrachart or multichart. improve this.

    Can anything be done to 'fix' the symptom while it is occurring? If so, what steps do you take? Or must you just wait until volatility subsides?

    How many total workspaces are open? Here is a link with more information about managing workspaces:How many total chart windows are in your main workspace? In those charts, how many chart tabs are there? In those chart tabs, how many total indicators are applied?

    To see what (if any) NinjaScript items may be contributing to the symptoms, please open the NinjaScript Utilization Monitor:
    • Control Center > New > NinjaScript Output
    • Right-click within the NinjaScript output window > Select 'NinjaScript Utilization Monitor...
    • This window will begin to populate with NinjaScript items in order of time spent processing
    • Let this window populate for at least a few minutes then send me a screenshot of it's contents
      • To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.
      • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

        everyone complains. i use sierra and ninjatrader. sierra never freezes. I have 30 charts there. ninja 4 graphics and the book. tomorrow I turn what you asked

          my workspace 4 charts 1 tickreplay 2 day and 3 chart (15 min, 500 tick 1 day) only sp500

              About how long was the NinjaScript Utilization window running before you took the screenshot?

              Also, is there a particular reason you blurred out indicator names? The reason I ask is if there is a particular indicator that we need to investigate it, it will be more difficult for me to specify which one with the names blurred.

                  Having indicator names doesn't divulge any particularly sensitive information, however, if you're concerned about publicly sharing this, I suggest that in the future you contact us via email instead of via the public forums:

                  With that said, none of the indicators seem to be sticking out like a sore thumb. I'd suggest further optimizing using the links mentioned in previous posts and the thread that Lancer provided earlier. Additionally, Tick Replay is incredibly resource intensive. It may be wise to disable that unless you have a specific indicator that requires it.
