NT8 Backup Restore - Custom Instruments Data & Definition Missing

    NT8 Backup Restore - Custom Instruments Data & Definition Missing

    1. Created backup with NT8.0.15.1 with custom instruments (index and future) historical data and definition, chart template, custom indicators and workspace.

    2. Import the backup to another PC with new NT8.0.15.1 installation
    a. Custom instruments historical data and definition is missing
    b. Custom chart template, custom indicators and workspace imported successfully

    Please advice on how to get the custom instruments backup and import correctly?

    It was raised in earlier version of NT8

    Thank you for your post.

    Glad to assist. On the first PC, are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report? Please test creating a backup (Tools > Export > Backup file...) to verify if any errors are reported. Also ensure the "Database files" and "Historical" chart data" options are checked when exporting the backup.

      Thank you for reply.

      No error for export backup (refer to sceenshot)
      Config files, Historical data, Ninjascripts, Templates & workspaces were selected
      Non custom instruments data , workspaces , custom scripts and chart templates are restored successfully.

      Please advice, thank you.

        Sorry to hear that didn't help. Testing the issue on my end, the historical data and the custom instruments and definitions are being re-imported successfully.

        Please write into to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]Com along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post.




        Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
        *
        Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
        *
        Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        *
        Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
        *
        Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
