Hello,

I just upgraded to NinjaTrader 8.0.21.1 and after using it i noticed there is an undesirable lag when entering symbols in charts. Is there a way to remove this feature or mitigate the lag?

It is not possible to change or remove the new instrument selector feature. Can you quantify the lag you're experiencing? Is it half a second? 3 seconds?

What is the size of your database file? To check, follow these steps:

• Navigate to Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > Double left click on the 'db' folder
• Right-click on 'NinjaTrader.sdf' (may only say 'NinjaTrader' depending on your Windows settings) > Properties
• Tell me the size

It's unfortunate that it cannot be turned off. I would estimate that it's between 0.5-1s.

What is the size of your database file? To check, follow these steps:

The size of the db files is 3.7mb

So we can further diagnose your system, start NinjaTrader in Safe Mode.

To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

• Ensure NinjaTrader is shut down
• Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
• Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
• You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

Once NinjaTrader has started on just the control center, please connect to a data feed then open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and test for issues.

If there are no issues on this new workspace, please try opening the previous workspace by going to the Control Center > Workspaces > Choose your workspace.

If there are no issues, restart NinjaTrader normally and test for issues.

Does your normal workspace reintroduce the symptoms?

Please let me know the results of this test.

After entering safe mode and opening up a chart the lag still remains.

However, after opening my workspace in safe mode i noticed the lag is noticeably worse.

If the lag was as in the first case I'd be ok with it, but in my workspace it's far from ideal. Perhaps I should revert to the previous version and, if so, can i uninstall the current version without losing my settings?

Half a second seems like reasonable delay, however, worse than that may be the result of some other variable.

Please send me your database, workspaces, templates, log, and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

• Expand 'Other files' and enable 'Database file'.
