Strategy on chart

    Strategy on chart

    Hi,
    When applying a strategy on a new chart with the selected instrument nothing happens. On the log window, the strategy is listed but it looks like no trade is triggered. However, when I call the strategy on the same instrument via STrategy analyzer everything works fine. What am I doing wrong?

    If you check, enabled at the right hand side of the strategy listed in the control center, does the strategy run as you'd expect?

      Hello Alan,
      good point - I did not have the strategy "enabled" in the control center. When enabled I get a message "Although you have order confirmation enabled, orders generated by a strategy will be submitted without confirmation", and after clicking OK it shows some entries.

      However, the result is not the same. See the image - comparing the same strategy run in chart window and run in strategy analyzer.

        Hello Domek_69,

        I would check your BarsRequiredToTrade for the strategy and make sure the strategy running on the chart has enough bars.

        Check the log tab of the control center for errors.

        Historical trades from a back-test are not going to show up in the trace files however a useful debugging tool would be to set TraceOrders=True, and use the NinjaScript Output window to trace orders placed, amended, and canceled. See the following forum post,

          Thank you for your tips. Latest run actually showed the same results so I am OK with now. But I look at the TraceOrders functionality.
