so the IB data sucks, can i sub to Kinetic and execute through NT with my IB?
pretty much sums it up. Stock IB data flow sucks, so my question is, if i invest into Kinetic data feed, can I still execute IB trades inside NT with a kinetic feed? IB told me today they dont offer Kinetic data option, onviously NT does, but was told IB to execute inm NT you need the IB data. very confused, love this platform, hoping for clairty. Also, shotout to tech support here, VERY responsive and helpful!!!!!!Tags: None

Hello seanthenoob,
Thank you for your post. Short answer: yes.
With the NinjaTrader platform, you can receive market data from Kinetick and then execute trades to your Interactive Brokers account. You can subscribe to a live data feed from Kinetick and then set Kinetick as the preferred provider for real-time & historical data. Then you can connect to both Kinetick and Interactive Brokers at the same time. With this configuration, NinjaTrader will use Kientick for all market data and you will only use the Interactive Brokers connection to execute trades to your live account. Here is a link to the Help Guide with more information about setting your preferred data connection:Additionally, if you are subscribing to live market data from Kinetick and using NinjaTrader as your front-end platform, you would not need to pay for live market data through your Interactive Brokers account. Here is a link to the Kinetick subscription page:Let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Hi. I am new to NT. Can I please have a little clarity on some comments here. IB makes you pay for live data in order to trade? Or did you mean in order to trade with NinjaTrader I must have some kind of live data feed flowing into NT and in that case IB would make me pay to pull their data into NT? Is that true of all brokers? I must not be understanding the comments. I am currently with another broker but have been thinking of switching to IB (right now i only trade equities so cannot use NT as a broker). Also, if I decide to sub to Kinetick to practice in NT I assume I do not need a NT license for that, only to trade live. Last question (sorry). If I sub to Kinetick and import historical data into NT, can I save that data to a file offline so that I can test that data in the future offline? Thank you

Hello,
You will need to be enabled for data by either your broker or a third party data provider such as Kinetick. Below is a list of supported data providers:
If you have a subscription to Kinetick or any other data provider you can use this data to sim trade without a license key. For charges regarding data fees for brokers/data providers, we advise reaching out to the company directly.
Please let me know if I may assist further.Ryan S.NinjaTrader Customer Service
