    Overwriting indicators/scripts

I use 1 PC for trading and a second one for developments.
If I developed an improved version of an indicator on my development PC and want to install him on my trading PC what do I do?
I would export the indicators from the development PC and import him on my trading PC.
I just overwrite the old indicator, or should I first delete the old one and then import the improved version? Should I also overwrite the indicators added automatically by NT8 that are used in my programming? Like MIN, MAX, EMA,…..
Can I overwrite an indicator by a protected assembly one and vice versa, without any problem ? Or should I first delete the old one?

Both PC's have always the same version of NT8 to avoid problems.

    Hello marcus2300,

    Thanks fro your post.

You may overwrite the old scripts when importing. As for system indicators on the platform, I would suggest ensuring that the PC exporting is up to date so that if you are prompted to overwrite an indicator, you know you will be overwriting the indicators with the latest version. Changes to system indicators are not common, but I would advise this as a best practice for distribution.

You may also overwrite custom assemblies so long as the file name for the DLL is consistent and the class names for the scripts contained are consistent. If the these are different, you will want to remove the assembly and import the new one as the two assemblies would have conflicts.

    We look forward to assisting.
