    Indicator not working on MES

    Imported an Indicator and it is able to load on other futures contracts but not MES. Baffled.

    What is the indicator in question? Is it one you purchased from a third party vendor, or did you get it from a different source?

      It is originally from Pine ported over. Error received in output is
      "Error on calling 'OnBarUpdate' method on bar 258: You are accessing an index with a value that is invalid since it is out-of-range. I.E. accessing a series [barsAgo] with a value of 5 when there are only 4 bars on the chart."

        Thank you for your reply.

        Generally we would see this error if you are trying to access a series using a bar index that doesn't have information or is for an invalid index.

        What I would suggest is adding prints to the indicator to see what the values of the variables and series are on each bar. This should help you identify what value is causing the error.

        This forum post goes into great detail on how to use prints to help figure out where issues may stem from — this should get you going in the correct direction. You can even add these using the Strategy Builder.

        If you run into issues like we saw here, the above information will allow you to print out all values used in the statement or condition in question that may be evaluating differently than expected. With the printout information you can assess what is different between the values on a bar that does process and when it errors.
