    Where did my detail go?

    Hello,
I went be to collect the trade performance data over the last three months (May-Jul). I find the detail prior to Jun 19 gone. Where might it be located?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your post.

I would suspect that your database file was reset or renamed around that time. Unfortunately, this would remove historical trade data from the database which would be where the Trade Performance report takes its information from to create the reports. If you have the previous database file in the Documents/ NinjaTrader 8/ db folder (usually named Ninjatrader.OLD by one of our techs, if renamed by us), you can get the prior data from that database as well, but need to rename your current database file and change the NinjaTrader.OLD file to NinjaTrader.sdf and perform your Trade Performance calculations, though this will only include the data up to Jun 19.

Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

            Hello,

            Thanks for the post.

We would not necessarily support reading the database file outside of the platform.

If you would like to import the executions from an old database into your platform, please ensure NinjaTrader is closed, then rename the file you would like to load to 'Ninjatrader.sdf' and move or rename any duplicate files.

When you next start the platform, these executions will be accessible within the Trade Performance report.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Wow! I just don't know how to respond to this. I haven't used technology like this since, gosh, I don't remember. And I've developed systems since the 1970s. There are so many great database technologies that there is no reason I shouldn't have access to my history.

Basically what you are telling me is to find the old data, delete my current data, import the old data so I can use it?

Thanks for the info. Please don't take this personally. I see one heck of an opportunity!

                Hello,

                Thanks for the reply.

While we do not officially support it, you are certainly free to use other methods to read the database file. We would just be unable to recommend a program to do so.

That being said, your summary of my instructions is correct, this process would allow you to view the executions stored on your database file within the platform's interface.

Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance.
