    wobbly candles...

    Hello,

If you create , for example, a 100 tick mnq chart, then add a 3000 tick data series of the same symbol to it, but set the 3000 tick transparent, as you don't want to see it, the 100 tick candles become somewhat unusable, in that they flicker and wobble constantly. I have tried equidistant spacing on and off, but no difference (apart from oddly spaced candles). How can I add another data series to the chart, not see it (I have a 'nullstyle' candle type that does not draw candles, but that does not make a difference either), and not have it mess up the 100 tick candles. This should be easy to replicate your side I guess, if you want to see the effect. Using latest nt8 build. Candle basically wobbles a few pixels to the right, then back again, pretty much all the time. Makes me feel sick watching it!

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

I am currently in the process of attempting to reproduce this on my system.

In the meantime please send me your log and trace files to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com with the steps below.
    • Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
    • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments in an email to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com
    • Please be sure to include ATTN Dennis 2676225 and a link to this post in the body of the email.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
I look forward to your email.

My logs will be huge, but I will try and send you some simpler ones. In the meantime, here are a pic and video that show the issue and config

            Hello,

            Thank you for your patience.

I have followed up with our Development team I found that this behaviour is expected.

This is due to using non-time-based bars and the nature of how these bars are time stamped.

Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

'Expected' - Thanks for the reply, but sorry, that's really not good enough. You mean, ninjatrader are happy with having the candles jump all over the place in real-time on the screen, if the user does not use time-based bars? C'mon. Really?

I agree. This is not good enough. If NinjaTrader developers think this is acceptable, they don't understand the level of quality reasonably expected by users and being routinely provided by competitors.
