Data Feed repeated disconnect

    Data Feed repeated disconnect

    I am using NT 8.0.22.2 64-bit and have 2 data feeds. Rithmic (which I use for clearing trades) in addition to back up data feed from Kinetick.

    Today I had a very very rough day with constant disconnects on the rithmic feed.

    it would drop and reconnect (please see below). I've tried various servers, from West coast to east coast to chicago and europe with no luck. Kinetick feed never had issues.

    I've rebooted the PC, I've closed and reopened NT, I deleted the DB cache and restarted NT, I flushed DNS cache on the PC, and rebooted my router. Non of them fixed the issue.

    Any suggestions what I may be facing and how to fix the issue?

    Thank you for reaching out to us with these details and providing this information.

    Based on errors and messages that are displayed in the diagnostic files you included with your post, the PC in use is experiencing some intermittent connection issues to the Rithmic servers. The connection in use in NinjaTrader appears to be unable to maintain a consistent connection to the Data Servers.

    Please keep in mind that this problem could be specific to your connection to these particular data servers, which is why you may be able to access other web addresses or utilize other data providers as you mentioned you have used Kinetick without issue. Common reasons that contribute to connection stability are as follows:
    • Issues with the ISP (Internet Service Provider)
    • Hardware firewall changing IP addresses frequently
    • Dynamic IP addresses that are changing frequently intraday. Usually this happens once a week but you may want to check with your ISP. If they do change daily, requesting a static IP address may help.
    To resolve this, I recommend the following steps (test for the issue after each step) I notice that you have mentioned some of these steps already. I would still recommend testing to see if the behavior continues each step at a time:
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Restart your modem and (if applicable) router
    • Restart your PC
    • Also, ensure that your computer is not turning off your Network Adapter to conserve power:
      • Right-click on your Start button
      • Select 'Device Manager'
      • Expand 'Network Adapters'
      • Right-click on your Network Adapter and select Properties > Power Management
      • Uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option
      • Click 'OK' to save the changes
      • Do this for all Network Adapters
    • Clear your DNS once more
      • Open the Command Prompt (I have included a link that goes over different ways to open the command prompt)
      • In the command prompt, run this command: ipconfig /flushdns
    • If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
    • Ensure exceptions have been added into any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the Documents > "NinjaTrader 8" folder.
    • If the above steps do not help, contact your ISP and let them know you are experiencing a highly unstable connection. An issue of connectivity may exist on their end.
