Unable to Start NT. "Unhandled exception" message.

    Unable to Start NT. "Unhandled exception" message.

    Been using without a problem for 3 months. Will not get past 'loading custom assemblies' when starting up. I get this message:

    "Unhandled exception: '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1." for a few seconds then it shuts down.

    1) I uninstalled/reinstalled NT
    2) I have one custom indicator package from a single vendor - also for 3 months.

    I see one or two other posts with the same problem but no obvious solution evident.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you for your post.

    Glad to assist. To resolve this, shut down NinjaTrader if possible. Next, go to the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\log folder.

    Next, delete 'Install.XML' file within the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\log folder > restart.

      Thanks for the reply, Eric

      Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem. I deleted the file as instructed. It takes me a few seconds longer into the startup process, but I still get the same message.

        Sorry to hear that didn't help. Please write into to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]Com along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post.

        Include ticket number 2773314 in the body of the email.

        Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
        Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
        Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
        Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

          Hi, I now have the same issue on version 8.0.26.1. The platform froze and I restated and am receiving the same error message now. Could someone from NT assist?

            Thank you for using NinjaTrader.


            I see that you're using an older version of NinjaTrader. You may update NinjaTrader by following the steps below:
            • First, copy your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
            • Click on the link: https://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
            • Enter your license key and press Submit
            • Select 'Download'
            • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.
            ​Please also ensure that all available updates for your PC are installed from the Windows Settings > Update and Security page. Be sure to close NinjaTrader and restart your computer after any updates are installed.
