Strategy lifetime

Do the banks or brokers use bots to prevent a successful strategy from continuing to be successful?

I don't know if this is the equivalent of "urban legends" or if it is totally legit, but I've come across comments in other forums that Artificial Intelligence is used to detect and prevent successful strategies. If I am going to spend time learning strategy builder, it would be nice to know that I'm not just making something that will last a short lifetime before it is detected and ruined. Also, if the ruining of my strategy is something that could happen, I want to also be prepared to catch it if it likewise moves against my position before bankrupting my account.

Is this nonsense? Please say yes.
