    Hot Key Issue

    I want to assign Ctl-uparrow to BuyAsk and Ctl-downarrow to Sell Bid to place orders on a chart.

    The HotKey dialog allows this but the default key behavior for these does not change, nor does the new assignment work.

    Not on the DOM, not on the chart body, and not on ChartTrader...

    Please advise.

    Thank you for your note.



    I suspect it is not accepting this change in hotkeys because that is already assigned to for another use.

    Bar spacing + is associated with the control and up arrow command and bar spacing - is associated with the control down arrow command. These are located up the Chart Category for the Hot Keys menu. If you delete those assignments and reassign the command to the desired order entry command, does the command take?

      1) well, can you try it on your end? ..this appears to be Ninja Reserved to move the drawn chart up and down....but it allows me to override them in HotKey assignment but then it does not change the behavior...I don't need the defaults.

      2) once a hot key is assigned, how do you set it back to null (no key)?

        sorry, to remove a hot key I just need to click on the X...the other issue?

          Thank you very much for your reply.

          Have you enabled allow hotkey order entry? This did work on my end and I suspect this needs to be enabled. Will you please try:
          • Utilizing the Control Center
          • Select Tools
          • Select Options
          • Selecting the Trading category on the left-hand side
          • Ensure that "Use order entry hot keys" is enabled
          • Select OK
          Are you then able to utilize the hotkeys you assigned?
