    Order Flow Volume Profile not working many times

    Hi,

    I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong or maybe a problem with the underlining data, but there are many times when I use the Order Flow Volume Profile, no profile is shown. I can see that the indicator on the chart but it doesn't show any histogram. It doesn't matter if it's a 5 min or 60 min chart.

    Any ideas?

    Do you notice any consistency between the times no profile is shown?

    What instrument do you have loaded in the chart of your screenshot?

    Can you please post a screenshot of the Order Flow Volume Profile indicator settings when no profile is shown so I can try to reproduce it on my end.

      Unfortunately, I couldn't find any consistency between the times no profile is shown.
      I'm looking at ES-12-20

        Can you please tell me what NinjaTrader version you have installed. You can check this at Control Center-->Help-->About. If you don't have the latest version installed (8.0.23.1), please do so and check if the issue persists.

        First, please make a copy of the license key entered at Control Center-->Help-->License Key as you need it to download NinjaTrader.Once installed, please start NinjaTrader and check if the profile is shown whenever you apply the Order Flow Volume Profile drawing tool.

              Interactive Brokers.
              In the attached screenshot you can see that the Order Flow Volume Profilewasn't working on the 60 minutes chart while Ninza's Market Profile indicator worked.

                Hello,

                IB's API does not provide historical tick data, which this indicator needs to calculate. It does provide real-time tick data though, so when you add this to the chart you will see data begin to populate and record to your machine's historical data cache, which can be loaded at a later time.

                However, to see all historical data requested you would need to connect to a data provider that provides historical tick data.

                  I'm using the Order Flow Volume Profile indicator on ES data and not the TICK.
                  Also, I've started using the tick data only recently (about a month) and the problem with the Order Flow Volume Profile indicator has happened ever since you released it.

                    To clarify, I'm not referring to historical data of the TICK index, I am instead referring to tick data as a data type rather than OHLC bar data. Below is a publicly available link explaining the difference if needed:
