    Can't import backup

    I just updated NT8 to version 8.0.23.2

When I try to import a backup file, it gives me an error.

It also did this today before I updated it.

    Hello Johnny Santiago,

If possible, we'd like to take a look at the backup and what might be causing this error.

If the backup file isn't too big, would you be able to forward it to us?

The easiest way would be to reach out to us via the Control Center > Help > Email Support.

This allows you to attach the backup, if it isn't too big, and forward it to our Support Team. We could then analyze it on our end.

If this is possible, please add the following note to your message:

    ATTN Manfred 2883199

Should it be too big to attach/email, please let me know!

I tried sending it and its stuck at "sending request"

I created a new backup today and I tried to import it and it allows me to import the backup I made today after the update.

It wont let me import anything before today, before the update.

            Hello Johnny Santiago,

Thank you very much, we've received the backup and are currently analyzing it.

Should you ever encounter this issue again, one option to manually restore a backup is to unpack the file itself. When NInjaTrader creates a backup, it is created as a renamed ZIP file to ensure compatibility and enable manual restores.

To turn it back into a ZIP file, simply rename the backup from 2020-XX-XX.nt8bk to 2020-XX-XX.zip and unpack it into a temporary folder.

The unpacked file will contain your workspaces, templates, third-party scripts, historical trades, and everything else that was selected when the backup was created:

Size:	27.3 KB
ID:	1132813

To restore these files, please first shutdown NinjaTrader, then copy and paste them into the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 folder.

Please note; As with a regular restore, this will overwrite any existing data, including historic trades, templates, and workspaces.

As soon as I have analyzed what caused the restore to fail I'll follow up with you via email.

Thank you in advance for your patience!
