Create my own snippets in NinjaScript editor?

Hi. I was doing some complex indicator work; requiring inner classes,
so I said to myself "hey, this snippet stuff is nice; I can just use that
mechanism to create my own inner class insertions".

BUT, I couldn't find how to "create a new snippet" or "save selected
text as snippet".

Can't this be done? I guess I missed it. If it can't be done directly from
the editor; maybe I can put it wherever "snippets" live in the filesystem,
or maybe in the relational SDF database... just guessing here.

Thank you for your reply.

It wouldn't be documented or supported, but they're located in C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Snippet (assuming your Program Files are stored on your C: drive).

It looks like you may be able to utilize Visual Studio with an add on to help you to create custom snippets. I located this publicly available designer and this video showing how to use it.

Hi. I installed NinjaTrader 8 under c:\ninja and you are absolutely right,
that the bin\Custom\Snippet folder is under the root of the NinjaTrader installation
folder; and your example uses the default location as the root or home folder.

They are XML files, instead of plain text as I naively expected them to be...
