Futures Relative Volatility

I'd like to be able to choose futures instruments to day trade based on relative volatility. I'd like to create a Market Analyzer spreadsheet showing the relative volatilities.

The 7/19/19 NT Blog had an article on the topic of volatility. It mentioned using historical volatility and the Vix; I couldn't find comparable indicators.

Are there any volatility indicators available on the platform that I could use for this purpose?

There were no blog posts on July 19th 2019, however, I was able to find this blog post regarding volatility on May 7th 2019 which discusses volatility. Is this the one you're referencing? If not, please provide a link so that we can be on the same page.

In any case, I am not familiar with any indicator or Market Analyzer column that would display relative volatility as you describe it. I would suggest searching through our publicly available NinjaTrader Ecosystem website to see if you can find an add-on that meets your needs.

Here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:

Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

To Import:

1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
2. From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
3. Select the downloaded .zip file
4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:

• Right-click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK
