Ninja Trader Brokerage and rolling of future contracts

Hello,

I want to understanad what happen exactly when we continue keeping our position on a future contract when the expiration date of the contract comes :
-Does the broker roll our position without closing it ?
-Does the broker roll our position by closing our position and open a new position on the current contract ?
-Does the broker simply close our position ?
