ATM targets/stop losses have to be equal to or greater than the previous?

When attempting to set up an ATM with multiple targets, I am not able to set up strategies with overlapping price ranges in certain cases:

"The profit target 2 must be greater than or equal to profit target 1"
"The stop loss 2 must be greater than or equal to stop loss 1"

For example, I am unable to create an ATM:

    Target 1: Stop loss=20 Profit=10
    Target 2: Stop loss=10 Profit=20

What is the reasoning for this, and is there a way around it?

    Hello tradgrad,

I suggest to use the following ATM strategy or use 2 separate ATM strategies instead of using 1 ATM strategy that uses 2 Targets.

    Target 1: Stop loss=10 Profit=10
    Target 2: Stop loss=20 Profit=20

Unfortunately it is not possible to use the values as per you example. As you mention, stop loss #2 needs to be equal or greater than stop loss #1.

The ATM you suggest does not accomplish the same result as the one I described.

In mine, the larger stop loss gets cancelled when the earlier profit is reached thus eliminating a greater amount of the risk at that first milestone. And conversely, if the first SL is hit, it is the larger profit target that is cancelled, meaning that the trade can at least be essentially a breakeven with only a 20 tick retrace.

I do not know of a way to use multiple ATM strategies simultaneously.

What is the purpose of having this restriction?

I see. You could create an ATM strategy template for each. Then set 'ATM strategy selection mode' to 'Keep selected ATM strategy template on order submission' in the properties menu of the order entry window you use. Please see the link below for information on the ATM strategy selection mode.

You will have to submit 2 separate entry orders - one for each ATM strategy.

I'm not sure why you can't configure ATM strategies that way. I have submitted this as a feature request to the Development Team. I will follow up with an internal tracking number for your reference as soon as it is created.

I have not received a response back with a tracking number. Once I get it, I will post it on this forum thread.
