    Replay data download gets stuck at 'Loading data...'

    Hi NT Support,

    For a while I have had this issue where I try to download Replay data but - intermittently- there is no network activity at all. The screen gets stuck on 'Loading data...' and won't download what I need.

    Usually I am able to download one or two days, but when I attempt to download another one, I get the behavior described above.

    Because this issue is intermittent (in a couple of occasions I was able to download with no problems) I had thought perhaps the issue was at the server end but I don't see other people reporting this problem.

    Note this is not Historical Data, it's Market Replay data.

    I have attached a screenshot of the point where it gets stuck.

    What I had attempted to do to solve the problem:
    • Removed cache/history files
    • Repaired DB
    • Reset DB
    • Tried the download in Safe Mode
    • Switched to a different Workspace
    but none of the above seemed to solve the problem.

    Is there anything else I can try?

    First, I see that you're using an older version of NinjaTrader 8. To update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:
    • First, copy your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
    • Click on the link: https://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
    • Enter your license key and press Submit
    • Select 'Download'
    • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.
    Your Market Replay files are stored under Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db > replay. After updating NinjaTrader, please try renaming or deleting this folder.

    Don't hesitate to reach out if we may be of further assistance.

      Hi Tyler

      I currently use NT8 on a Windows 7 machine. What are the requirements to update to the latest version?

        NinjaTrader requires Windows 8 or later, as Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...quirements.htm

          Would you mind asking some of your colleagues whether an intermittent ability to download Replay data has anything to do with NT8 being installed on Windows 7?


          If it has nothing to do with that, is there another colleague that could look into the issue?

            It's not expected that anything would function correctly while using an outdated version of both NinjaTrader and Windows, but you can still try updating NinjaTrader and clearing your old replay data while continuing to use Windows 7- please refer to my previous instructions:
