    Financial volume

    Good morning

How could I see the financial volume as indicator? I know the VOL or Volume up down refer to the number of contracts traded. But I want to see the financial volume traded per period. Like in 5 minutes chart, how much dollars was traded on that 5 minutes bar?

I Look forward to hearing from you

    Att, Lucas Melo.

I am not quite sure that I understand what information you're trying to display. You're correct that the VOL indicator would be the number of shares (or contracts) traded during your bar period, however, there isn't really a 'dollar value' since the VOL would only be one side of a trade. In other words, an entry order and an exit order are needed to calculate any sort of 'dollar value'.

For example, if you bought ES 03-21 at 3925 and sold at 3926, your gross profit would be $50 (1 point = 4 ticks per point = $12.50 per tick). However, only you and your broker would have that information. The buy order and the sell order probably didn't happen at the exact same time, and maybe didn't occur in the same bar, and even further there is no information to associate your buy with your sell in the volume data. In this scenario, how would your "dollars was traded" indicator work?

Or are you simply wanting to know the value per tick or per point as an instrument goes up or down in price? In the above ES example, the 1 point/4 tick move up would be 'worth' $50 if you had entered long for 1 contract. The 'Ruler' drawing tool can be used to measure this.

Could you provide an example screenshot or video from any other platform or website of the information you're seeking?

Good afternoon NinjaTrader team, thank you for your feedback.

I think I was not very clear in my question, I'm sorry. I'll put it another way:

The standard volume of your platform (VOL or Volume up down) refers to the volume per contract quantity traded during the period of a bar.
The financial volume that I am referring to, is the financial quantity that is traded, in the same period of a bar.

Example in ES: in a 1 minute bar, 500 contracts were traded (standard VOL) and the price moved 10 points. To move these 10 points in 1 minute, 500 contracts were used and spent U$ 250,000 (financial volume that I refer to). Like 1 point = $50 with 1 contract, then 10 points = $250,000 with 500 contracts.
That is, standard volume shows the amount of contract and financial volume shows how much was spent by all traders in the same period of time, to move the same 10 points.

In Brazil, 90% of traders use the Profit platform, from the company Nelógica. It's the best and most complete platform I've ever seen, I couldn't find any similar in the American market. As a suggestion for improvement, I recommend NinjaTrader team to mirror the Profit platform for possible future improvements, the platform is extremely complete. I really like NinjaTrader, but there are still some points that can be improved.

Follow attached photos of the example of the financial volume on the profit platform, and also follow links explaining how the financial volume works on it.

I look forward to hearing from you again.

      Thank you so much.

Thanks for the explanation and resources. Unfortunately, there is no built-in indicator that has this exact functionality as it is described in the resources and examples you provided. The Order Flow Market Depth Map or perhaps one of the other Order Flow tools provides similar information but is visualized differently.

With that said, it would be possible to create this indicator using custom NinjaScript programming. If you're interested in programming this yourself I can move this post over the NinjaScript forums so one of my colleagues on the NinjaScript Team could assist you.

Also, I encourage you to browse through our publicly available NinjaTrader Ecosystem website. Here is a search for 'Volume' that may produce results, but try your own search terms to narrow down the results as you wish:Here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:

Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

        To Import:
        1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
        2. From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
        3. Select the downloaded .zip file
        4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:
        • Right-click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK
Here is a short video demonstration of the import process:The NinjaTrader Ecosystem website is for educational and informational purposes only and should not be considered a solicitation to buy or sell a futures contract or make any other type of investment decision. The add-ons listed on this website are not to be considered a recommendation and it is the reader's responsibility to evaluate any product, service, or company. You can make a chart or a diagram with all your finances. I mean a chart like the one you have on your banking app with all your expenses in a month. Using this example, you can make a diagram with the total sum. By selecting a period from this diagram, you can see how much money you have made, for example, during 10 minutes. I am not a prominent specialist, better to hire a financial advisor cost per hour. He/She will help you make such a diagram and maybe have a better idea than mine.

Hell Claireredfil, thank you for your answer.

However, what sort of chart or diagram do you mean? Do you have any kind of example for me to see?

I get your idea, it's such a great one. However the Financial Volume I was talking about it was the volume of the traders all together, how much money all the players move together in a period of time, not related about my expenses though.

Anyways, I appreciate your answer, dude. Thank you a lot.
