Ninjatrader setup has ended prematurely... error. Help.

I am getting the above error when I try to install version 8 of Ninjatrader. My laptop is running windows 10, plenty of ram and plenty of space. Need help, thanks.

Please ensure you have no pending Windows Updates. We have seen this occur especially with a pending .NET Framework update from this year.

If this update is still pending, the installer is often blocked until Windows installed this update.

In most cases, once all Windows Updates were installed, NinjaTrader would uninstall/reinstall without further issues.

I have no updates pending. Everything is up to date.

That link does not work. Microsoft discontinued fix it tools.

I used the simulation key above and received the same error message as before.

Then just uninstall any related to Ninjatrader.

The also delete every file.

After that, install the setup from

There is nothing to uninstall... it never installed it.

I used your link, same error comes up.

Version 7 will run the installer, but neither of the version 8s work.

This is a pretty silly error to be having and you will want to forward this to your the devs. It fails because it needs UAC or administrator privilege.

NinjaTrader.Install.msi /l* log.txt

gives standard log

NinjaTrader.Install.msi /l*v log.txt

gives standard log + verbose

If you run it with admin it gets past this error message. Something is screwy, you can't right click and run as admin, you have to open an elevated shell.
