    Chart Help

I was wondering if you have the ability to draw on a chart or make your own notes/ticks/comments? Also, is there a way to zoom in on the charts?

    #2

    Hello joe.rowan,

    Thanks for your patience.

Your request to draw freely on a chart is on development's radar as a feature request. The internal tracking number for your feature request is SFT-811 . Please reference this internal tracking number when contacting Platform Support if you ever have questions regarding this feature request. When a feature request is implemented, you'll find a description of the new feature in the release notes:
Additionally, you may zoom in on a chart using the zoom button that is located at the top of the chart. The zoom button has a magnifying glass with a plus (+) symbol on it. You may then zoom out with the button that has a magnifying glass with a Negative (-) symbol on it.

For your reference, I have provided a link to our HelpGuide for more information about how to zoom in and out of a chart.

Lastly, Your request to place notes or comments on a chart can be done by downloading this indicator. It is publicly available on our NinjaTrader Ecosystem website:
This would allow custom, fixed text to be placed on the chart, e.g. directly next to the ChartTrader, and would allow you to keep notes directly on the chart.

Here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:

Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

    To Import:
    1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
    2. From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
    3. Select the downloaded .zip file
    4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:
    • Right-click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK

Here is a short video demonstration of the import process:
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
