Automatic (Unconfirmed) Instrument Creation

NinjaTrader 8.0.24.2

In any Instrument Selector in any standard window, type an Instrument name of a non-existent Instrument; for example type FREDO and press Return/Enter.

This one action causes a new Instrument to be created called (in this example) FREDO, of type Stock and with various defaults.

If there is "finger trouble" in typing an Instrument name, this behaviour can lead to multiple non-existent (and unwanted) Instruments being created.

Comments:

1. Is this the intended behaviour, and, if so, is it documented?
2. If it is the intended behaviour, I strongly recommend a Confirmation dialogue before the Instrument is created.
3. If it is not the intended behaviour, please fix.

Hello jeronymite,

1. Yes, this is as expected behavior. When you enter a symbol that is not present in NinjaTrader, it will automatically create a stock instrument for it.
