How to make the best backup?

Good morning,
Please I need help in a specific matter,

When I perform the backup (1 image attached) I select the options from the corresponding list (2 image attached).
The resulting backup file has a size of approximately 162 MB (3 image).

Sorry but my platform is configured in Spanish language as it is my native language.

However in NT Version 7 when I performed my backup it was much larger at approximately 9 / 10 GB.

My questions:

- 1) Can you explain me what is going on, did I do something wrong?

- 2) Is there a different alternative to make a correct backup and the best way to do it?

Thanks for the post.

Based on your screenshot you have successfully completed a backup of NinjaTrader 8 and everything looks correct.

The reason NinjaTrader 7's backup is larger probably just has to do with how much historical data, add-ons, workspace, etc. you have in NinjaTrader 7 versus 8.

Historical data is never deleted unless you manually do so, so if you have been running NinjaTrader 7 for 2 years (as an example, I am not sure how long you used it), there would be 2 years worth of historical data in there, which can add up fast to a very large backup file. This is compounded if you have more workspaces, templates, NinjaScript files, etc.

As long as the successful backup message appears in your log tab of the Control Center, and no errors print there, then the backup was almost certainly done correctly.

Indeed when I was using NT7 I used it for 4 years before making the switch to version 8 currently.

Thanks for the screenshot to know the confirmation on the Control Center registration screen.
I am not used to see this log but from now on I will do it.
