    Real-Time Data on NinjaTrader Chart Does Not Match Data on Interactive Brokers TWS

    I have version Build 978.2c of Interactive Brokers TWS running on my computer and am using the IB connection for historical and real-time data. The data on a NinjaTrader chart does not sync correctly with the data in TWS. I recorded a short video with both charts side by side. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AsopK5ZLfj5ZgfcqguEMhv9QtydBNA.

    In the video you can see the data in TWS updates much more frequently than in NinjaTrader. Also the chart in NinjaTrader sometimes does not catch a quick move down/up (or vice versa), so the low or high of the bar is not correct.

    I have also seen the same issue using real-time data from Kinetick. I am using NinjaTrader version 8.0.24.3 64-bit.

    I also just did a clean install of NinjaTrader by renaming the NinjaTrader 8 folder and then running the installation file again. I am still see the same issue.

      Hello gregschr,

      Thank you for your post.

      We have recently updated our supported version of TWS. As a first test I would like to uninstall the current version you are using and install the new supported version with the link included in our Interactive Brokers Connection Guide Below:If you are still seeing the same after installing this new version I would like to test in Safe Mode.

      Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
      • Loading workspaces.
      • Connecting on start-up.
      • Loading custom assemblies.
      • Getting instrument updates from the server.

      To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
      • Exit NinjaTrader.
      • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
      • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
      • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
      Once in Safe Mode please connect and open a new chart window.

      Does the same behavior persist?

        Hi Spencer,

        I installed the new version of TWS and am still seeing the same behavior.

        Started up NinjaTrader in Safe Mode and am still seeing the same behavior.

        It actually seems to be much worse now. Sometimes the price in NT is not updating for several seconds or more.

          Thank you for your post.

          I was able to test with the same stock instrument on my end and I am not able to replicate this behavior.

          Please send me your log and trace files so that I may investigate further.

          You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

          Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
