Manual Entry + IB/NT8 Disconnection

Hello,

I am wondering what will happen if I entered a manual trade on a stock using NT8's ChartTrader (connected thru IB), and then after the position is confirmed, I either lose connection or shut down NT8 for the evening. I know with some strategies, when NT8 was re-started it would null the position, but I'm talking about just a manual trade here. When NT8 restarts and connects with both the data feed and then IB, will my position still show on the chart?

Also, if I had a take profit target already submitted before it disconnected (or was shut down), and overnight the stock price hit that target, when I connect to NT8 in the morning, will the position show to be closed? Does NT8 pull in the trade status from IB when both NT8 and IB are connected once again?

Yes, if the order filled and put you in a position, that position is displayed in NinjaTrader once you are reconnected.

Yes, if the position was closed while NinjaTrader was shut down, that position will not show in NinjaTrader once reconnected.

My apologies, I meant if the take profit order was submitted but not filled. So if it was submitted but not filled, overnight that target was hit, the position would be considered closed by IB, when I restart NT8 the next morning will everything be null?

Yes, you would not see a position in NinjaTrader as it was closed.
