Compile Errors with Squeeze Momentum Indicator

    Hi All,

i tried to install Squeeze momentum indicator but it keeps throwing this error "Import failed. the ninja script archive file may contain duplicate method names that already exist on your PC, modify a method signature that other scripts were dependent on , or be missing a required file on either your PC or in the import archive "

first, when i import this indicator right away it throws an error ' the existing file bin\xx\xx\xx on your PC is newer version of the one contained in the ninha script archive file you are importing. would you like to replace". i hit 'No' and continue to hit NO for another 5 files. then in the end it throws above mentioned error

My ninja trader version is 8.0.24.3. has anyone has similar issues with the new version ?

any suggestions on how to fix this

    thanks

    Hello Maniinus,

Thank you for your post, as your reply was unrelated to the previous thread you created I've created a new item for it.

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader always compiles all indicators and strategies - not just one. This is done to give you the highest runtime performance possible.

    For NinjaTrader 7:
    • Open NinjaTrader
    • From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
    • Select ANY indicator and double click on it (we need only to open and compile one script to see all compile errors for all files).
    • A new window will appear and you will need to right-click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
    • At the bottom of the window, a new section will appear where you can find the error locations.
    • From there you have the option to comment out offending code sections, remove the complete indicator or debug it to be able to compile again.

    For NinjaTrader 8:
    • Open NinjaTrader
    • From the Control Center select the New menu--> select NinjaScript Editor
    • Right-click in the window and select Compile to compile all NinjaScript objects
    • At the bottom of the NinjaScript Editor window, a new section will appear where you can find the error locations
    • You can exclude the file referenced in the editor by double-clicking on the appropriate object type on the right of the NinjaScript Editor window. This will expand the object type folder. You can then select the file with a left-click--> right click on the object--> then select Open to begin debugging the file, Exclude From Compilation, or Remove to delete the file.

If you are unsure as to what the error is indicating, please send a screenshot of the NinjaScript File column and Error column fully visible (not to be confused with the Code column) to the Platform Support team at PlatformSupport(at)NinjaTrader(dot)com.
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's, Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

      Heath,

i am not even able to install this particular indicator , compiling it is a long shot. i tried installing other indicators and was successful. but when it comes to this particular indicator "Squeeze Momentum Indicator", even though it says its build for Version 8, when i import it , it fails right away throwing the error it mentioned in my earlier post above. your instructions would be valid if i had this installed and then seeing any errors but that is not the case.

        Hello maniinus,

The error indicates you have a NinjaScript file present in NinjaTrader that uses the same method names as the NinjaScript file you try to import. Do you have any other indicators or strategies installed that are similar? If you have an older version of this NinjaScript already installed, please remove the old version first and then check if you can import it. You can remove indicators and strategies at Control Center-->New-->NinjaScript Editor.

If the issue remains, please send the .zip file to "platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com". Put 'Att Jason, 3255757' in the subject field of the email.
