<Use Instrument Settings> Doesn't Work
If I create a new chart for any Instrument and open the Data Series dialog box, the Trading Hours field will default to <Use Instrument Settings>. However, despite the fact that Trade Hours are set correctly for each Instrument that I want to use, for example to "CME U.S. Index Futures ETH" for ES, YM, etc., the session starting and ending dates and times always default to midnight. Manually selecting "CME U.S. Index Futures ETH" makes the session starting and ending dates and times correct. However, my trading strategies rely on those dates and times to automatically exit prior to a session close and then re-enter in the next one and I don't what to risk forgetting to reset the midnight default time for each new chart created.Tags: None

Hello caveat_lector,
Thanks for writing in today.
You can change this setting in the Instruments menu to any desired template and save this so that the <Use Instrument Settings> is the desired template.
Head to the Control Center> Instruments> select the desired instrument> edit> change the Trading Hours template> OK. Moving forward the template you selected will be used by default.
If you have any further NinjaTrader inquiries we may assist with, please don't hesitate to ask.
