Current OHL indicator not plotting to correct times

    Hi,

I am using the Current OHL indicator to plot the open line on my chart of the ES mini (ES 12-21) as per the below.

Name:	ES 12-21 (30 Minute) 2021_09_22 (10_46_06).png
Views:	193
Size:	42.1 KB

I understand that the session hours of this product are 5:00pm CT (Session open) until 3:45pm CT (the next day).

I am based in the UK and I am 6 hours ahead of Central Time therefore I would expect that the open line would form at 11pm UK time / 5pm CT however as can be seen on the attached chart the open line is forming at approximately 5:15am which would be 11:15pm CT.

It seems as though the indicator is being drawn 12 hours out of sequence, is there a setting somewhere that I need to set to align my timezone with CT?

    Thanks,

    Neil

    Hello Neil,

The ES futures uses the 'CME US Index Futures ETH' trading hours template by default. This trading hours template uses a start time of 5:00pm US Central time. This would be 11:00pm in UK time (6 hours later).

When I set the time zone to UK time in NinjaTrader and test the same chart, it shows the Open at the 30 Minute bar that is time stamped as 23:30. This 30 Minute bar contains data between 23:00:00 and 23:29:59 as NinjaTrader time stamps price bars with the closing time. So the session starts at 23:00 as expected.

What time stamp does the first 30 Minute bar have in your chart?

Thanks Jason, the time stamp I had on the first 30 minute bar was 06:00am.

However I had the trading hours in my data series set to 'Default 24/7' and once I changed to 'CME US Index Futures ETH' the time stamp changed to 23:30pm as per your screenshot.

That's resolved my query so thanks for your help.

      Neil

I agree. It is not to criticize the devs, they've come up with great stuff, but this is a "reference implementation" which are usually meant to get the job done and that's it. They admit in their own docs that there is plenty of space for optimization.
