Entering a Trade

Hi
I am about to switch from another platform to Ninjatrader. I am a scalper and use chart trade on the simulator. . Is there a way I can use a shortcut key and a click to put in a trade. Sometimes when using the simulator hammers pick up my stop sitting on the chart for losses. If you could press a short cut key and click on the chart to put in the stop position it would be great for scalpers like me. I asked this once before but nothing has happened. Having stops sitting on the chart is dangerous as scalpers have to move quickly and this would fix the problem. Thanks.

Glad to assist. This would be possible via Tools > Hot keys > Order entry. Scroll to the bottom under Custom > select "add" to setup a custom orders, or enter a hot key for the needed order types.

Ensure to go to Tools > Options > Trading > check Use order entry hot keys.

I think I was not clear enough. I want to press a key on the keyboard position the mouse pointer on the chart at a price and left click the stop into position. Is there any way I can click the stop into position with the mouse say under a finished bar? The only way I know how at the moment is to right click select stop and move stop into position which is far too slow for a scalper. Also having the stop sitting on the chart makes it possible to be triggered by a hammer for big loses.

This would not be possible with the NinjaTrader platform at this time. However, we do have a pending feature request with our development team to add additional hotkeys, including one to submit orders at the current mouse position. I have added a vote on your behalf to this request.
