Need data for backtest Strategy Analysis. Do I need a sim license?

How would I get data to backtest for a year worth of data, minute by minute? Strategy analyzer does not have data when I run it.

Also is there something called a sim license? How does that work? Would that allow me to get data?

What specific instrument(s) are you trying to backtest? Please keep in mind that the historical data you backtest with is dependent on your Data Provider. Which Data Provider are you connected to while you are backtesting?

Hi Justin. Kind of you to reply. I am currently running everything on free version. I plan to buy soon once I can translate eyes into programs. I am using ES data.

Also kind of popularized NT among some trader friends in India. Do you know if NT 8 works with Indian stock exchanges both data and algotrading (stocks, futures, opotions)? Which ones if true?

Which specific Data Provider are you currently connected to as you backtest? If it is NinjaTrader Continuum, you should have access to this historical data, but if it is a different provider, you will need to reach out to them directly to confirm if they have this data on their servers.

In regards to your last question, you will want to send an email to our Platform Sales team ([email protected]) who can provide you a list of data providers that support stocks in NinjaTrader 8 and if any of them support Indian Stock Exchanges in particular as well.
