Some charts updating, some not

    Some charts updating, some not

    Hi
    Today I opened up my workspace where I have not had any problems at all.
    Today only one chart is live and updating and the others are frozen and not updating and some have price numbers missing in the price axis of the chart.
    I have tried disconnecting and re-connecting on the data feed (coinbase) and my charts are all BTCUSD
    I have tried closing and re-opening the platform but no effect.
    Please advise

    Hi Learner Trader!
    I had the same problem and it was because they had not activated the permissions from the platform that provides the service.
    In my case, it is a funded Go All Trading account ...
    I think you should speak to the support of the company that gives you the account and verify if you have permission to operate the markets that aren't updating on the chart.

      there is no account involved.
      I am using the free coinbase connection and only looking at the charts
      lets see what support says

        Hello Learner Trader,

        I have updated my post with new questions:
        1. What is the time frame? (For example is it a Minute chart, tick chart, etc.
        2. How much data is loaded on each chart?
        3. Do you see the same issue after closing your workspace and testing new charts without using templates/indicators/or custom barstypes? (Just to test the instrument by itself?)
        4. What is the version of NinjaTrader 8 you are using? (Help > About, For example, Release 25?)
        5. Do you see any errors in the log tab of the Control Center?

          I dont understand this
          I have the exact same setup on my main desktop with no problems
          I got a laptop a few weeks ago and set up the same workspace and have had zero problems
          now suddenly today the charts are not working
          I am using the free connection of coinbase and looking at BTCUSD
          I have heard the message today "connection lost" a few times today on the laptop and it reconnects
          I am using the latest version of NT8
          How do I find the log tabs in the control centre please?

            Please see the attached screenshot on where to find the log tab of the Control Center.

            Could you also provide answers to questions 1-4 from my last post?

            Connection losses or requesting too much data may cause this, and answering the questions above can help us narrow down the issue.

              I just closed and reopened the platform
              a few more charts are now updating and one says "bar timer waiting for real time data"
              so I think it is the coinbase connection feed today... please could you check that out Jim?

                here are the answers to your questions 1-4
                1 - timeframes range from 15 sec to 30min - the workspace has 8 charts in it
                2 - data loaded is mainly only one day on each chart with one about 300days - I only use tick replay on charts with one day worth of data downloaded
                3 - I closed workspace and opened a new chart of BTCUSD and it seems to update live as per normal
                4 - I am using version 8.0.25.0 64-bit
                5 - How do I send you a copy of the log files please?

                2 of my charts use the bar timer - its working on one chart but other chart says "bar timer waiting for real time data"

                Why is this all happening out of the blue?
                it has been working perfectly until today - I have not changed anything anywhere

                  Hello Learner Trader,

                  Thanks for your replies.

                  Coinbase does not provide very fast data like other dedicated market data providers and brokerages.

                  In general you will want to run few charts with this connection, with as little days to load as possible. Disabling Tick Replay is also recommended. Keep in mind also that some scripts may add tick data for volume analysis which will also increase loading times.

                  As long as the requests are small you should be able to use this free connection for Crypto charting. It is possible that an experience changes using their connection depending on how many users are connected (not just using NinjaTrader but from their own applications and other applications using their data.)

                  If you have questions on specific errors received in the logs, you may send the log and trace files to us at platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com. Please include context of the error you are inquiring on so we may find it in the log and trace files.

                  Sending in Log and Trace
                  • Open your NinjaTrader folder under My Documents.
                  • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
                  • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com. Please include the text "Attn Jim 3429374" and a link to this thread
                  • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

                    I went onto my desktop and all is normal there with the same workspace
