    Machine ID differs on notification error

    I sent my NT license key to a vendor. Downloaded it & installed it. I got a NT Vender Notificationi that tells me I don't have a valid ID for machine ID XXXXXX (within that error, it is not showing the actual machine id that is in my license or the one that I sent to vendor). Happy to share the screenshots of each showing you the error. Something isn't right here & not sure which one is correct or why it is producing the error.

    Your NinjaTrader license key?
    Did they ask for your license key?

    I haven't bought a lot NT8 plugins, so I may be out of the loop here,
    but I've always thought your NinjaTrader license key should not be
    shared with anyone, especially if you have purchased a lifetime
    license. Frankly, I don't see how a vendor would have any need
    for your NinjaTrader license key.

    In my experience,
    Typically, vendors want your MachineId, which is a completely
    different thing.

      Hello Angus7,

      Thank you for your post.

      You will need to send the machine ID of your platform to the vendors of your 3rd party add-ons to ensure the add-ons are activated for use on your computer. Not your license key.

      You can see yours under Help > About > Machine ID. Machine ID's are similar to an address. Vendors use the machine ID to know which computers to activate licensing for products.

      You can also contact the vendor as they would have step by step instructions available to activate their product.
