    unable to connect to remote server

    Good morning

    It is now about 8am in here in the UK
    I am getting the message "unable to connect to remote server"
    Here are my observations:

    1 - After I click on "ok" on the error message, my layout seems to be active with live data except with one of the 3rd party applications asking for the licence activation key again - and when I enter it again, the "unable to connect to remote server" appears again.

    2 - I open NT8 in safe mode and open a chart and it is not live.
    Please could you advise me?

    Hello Learner Trader,

    Can you please troubleshoot the connection error with the steps below. Test for the connection error after each step.
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Restart your modem and (if applicable) router
    • Restart your PC
    • Clear your DNS
      -Open the Command Prompt: https://www.howtogeek.com/235101/10-...in-windows-10/
      -In the command prompt, run this command: ipconfig /flushdns
    • If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
    • Ensure exceptions have been added into any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the Documents > "NinjaTrader 8" folder.
    • Ensure that your computer is not turning off your Network Adapter to conserve power:
      -Right-click on your Start button
      -Select 'Device Manager'
      -Expand 'Network Adapters'
      -Right-click on your Network Adapter and select Properties > Power Management
      -Uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option
      -Click 'OK' to save the changes
      -Do this for all Network Adapters

      Hi Jason

      Many thanks for the list of steps
      I followed them all but the problem is still there.
      I think it is to with MZpack 3rd party indicators as I get the licence activation key message and then it says unable to connect to remote server. But remember it also says unable to connect to remote server at the beginning of the boot up as well.
      I have emailed MZpack and await their response.
      In case its not that, please can I ask if you can do remote access and see what is causing this today as I have followed all the above steps to no avail.

        I don't think it is related to a 3rd party add-on.

        Can you please send me your log and trace files so that I may investigate.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

        Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
