How to set Chart Trader properties that can be used as default?

Hi all. (Moving from NinjaTrader 7 to 8)

I set the Chart Trader properties to my liking in one chart. Then I clicked on the "preset" text (as per Help) and clicked "Save".

However, I have not found a way to restore those properties for Chart Trader in other charts!!!

What am I missing???

Hello M_ichel,

Thank you very much for your post.

The ChartTrader properties don't use a full template but instead rely on the "default" properties only.

This means if you click on preset > save, any future ChartTrader being opened would exhibit the same settings. Clicking on preset > restore would then reset these to the platform's default.

In short; You should be able to simply open a new ChartTrader with all settings you set prior, as long as you clicked on preset > save.

WHAT!? We now have a new concept: "full template"!!! As opposed to "NO template"???

From what I can see we have lost the ability, in going from 7 to 8, to save ChartTrader preferences...

Wait... after doing some experimenting, I have found out that the ChartTrader preferences are in fact saved!!! Guess where...

They are saved in the Chart template!!! Of all places!!!

Whoever made that design decision should go back to app-design school, in my humble opinion!
