    NinjaTrader for Linux?

Will there ever be a version of Ninja Trader for Linux?

    #2
    Maybe. But probably not.

When '.NET Framework' becomes fully supported on Linux,
then perhaps, but that will probably never happen.

.NET is evolving, but it is the newer things, such as '.NET Core'
which are getting all the attention, becoming open sourced,
    etc.

When .NET Framework is ported to Linux, then, and only
then, can NinjaTrader (in its current form) follow suit. Even
after that, it's still depends on a lot of other libraries, but
from what I understand, the biggest obstacle is quite huge,
and that is, the .NET Framework library is Windows only.

    Just my 2˘.

      Hello Itachi,

I'm not aware of any plans to support NinjaTrader on Linux. It is on the list of possible future enhancements under SFT-153. If you want to add your vote, please let me know.

Have you tried wine? Otherwise VM is the only other best option if you have copy of Windows.

With Windows becoming more restrictive, I think NT should consider looking to make NT 8 Linux natively capable.

Hey there! I noticed that this is an old forum post, but I wanted to chime in on the topic of a Linux version of NinjaTrader. I'm not sure if there's been any progress on that front, but it's worth noting that CentOS 7, which was a popular Linux distribution for servers at the time this post was made, has since reached its end-of-life support. If you're still using CentOS 7, you may want to consider options for extended support or upgrading to a newer distribution. Check this out https://tuxcare.com/extended-lifecyc...ended-support/. That being said, if you're still hoping to use NinjaTrader on Linux, have you looked into using Wine or another Windows compatibility layer? I hope this helps, even though it's a bit late in the game! Let me know if you have any questions.
